The Medium at Large
Hello everyone. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and great spirit. This past year has been a very challenging year for all of us. We did get through it, but not without a cost. Some have lost jobs or have lost loved ones. If you have you have my deepest sympathy.
Some of my family and friends have gotten Covid and have been fortunate enough to come out of it with a minimum of after affects. I hope that has been the case with those of you that have gotten Covid.
As you know all of this will pass and we will be getting back to something like normal, we hope.
What I want to focus on this month is to listen to all the words that people are saying, instead of what you think they are going to say. We expect a person to say one thing but they say something else. I will give you a few examples of this in the form of two poems. Here they are.
“Of all the fishies in the pond
My favorite is the bass
He climbs upon a slippery rock
And falls upon his hands and knees”
Surprising, wasn’t it? Here is the second one.
“Rah rah ree
Kick him in the knee
Rah rah rash
Kick him in the other knee”
See what I mean? You expected a totally different ending to the poems. We do this a lot in our day. We listen but do not hear all the words. We put our own words in, and not what the other people say.
What I want to pass on to you this month is that we should practice our listing skills. Listen to all that is said instead of guessing to what we think is going to be said. If we do that, we will understand the whole meaning. When we do this, we will better understand each other. We will have less misunderstandings with what the other person said. We will also have less conflicts. That in itself is a big plus. I hope you take this advice to heart, it might help you in your life’s journey.
Next up on my calendar, besides personal readings, is going to be
in Virginia Beach, VA on September 11-12, 2021. It will be held in Double Tree by Hilton.
It is a great place to visit.
Love, hope and peace to all
